MDC has profoundly transformed financial operations within the DHA through the provisioning of its innovative Information and Data Analytics Services (IDAS). Through a strategic partnership with Advancia Technologies, MDC delivered the Budget Navigator—a customized financial management tool that encompasses financial management, operations, budget data modeling, optimization, and comprehensive GFEBS global support.
This tool not only streamlines data aggregation and analytics but also significantly enhances the clarity and responsiveness of financial decision-making processes. It’s built on the robust Microsoft Azure platform and leverages the dynamic capabilities of Microsoft Power BI to offer interactive data visualizations, enabling users to uncover vital financial insights efficiently. Budget Navigator addresses critical challenges previously faced by DHA, such as the inability to promptly identify and reconcile key financial indicators, including cashflow projections, plan to actuals, unmatched disbursements, and unliquidated obligations.
By leading a skilled team in an agile development environment, MDC has pioneered an advanced solution for in-depth data analysis using natural language processing, integrating data from GFEBS and DAI systems. This solution features 18 distinct views across various organizational levels and includes a data dictionary to standardize information from different sources. Additionally, by creating comprehensive training materials for the tool’s Go-Live rollout, MDC has enabled DHA users to resolve open commitments before fiscal deadlines and accurately manage year-end fund status.
